Deniers: What does it mean?
„D” or „DEN” stands for denier, which relates to the weight of fabric in your hosiery.

High denier hosiery is over 40 denier and is thicker and heavier. You will be able to feel that the material is thicker, which means that tights will be warmer and more opaque. This kind of hosiery is perfect for cold weather. While many high denier tights are in plain colors, there are also many different patterns of high denier tights to choose from. There are more benefits of high denier legwear. Tights above 80 den have a more opaque appearance, so they can completely cover your skin tone. You can also find that high denier tights are more durable and it’s more difficult to ladder.

Sometimes, you may see that one pair of 20 dens may be a little different than others. It depends on the quality of yarns and the kind of used yarns. For example, 20 denier lycra sheer tights will be less opaque than 20 den microfiber tights. The same thickness, but a different effect on legs.
