The designation for thickness of legwear is denier. Meaning the weight of the fabric of hosiery. There are many thicknesses: 5 denier, 10 denier, and even 200 denier. The higher is this number, the thicker your legwear would be. More denier = more ladder resist. But sheer tights are great for warm days or elegant occasions.
